Tough questions from kids ~ Can I do whatever I want when I am older?~
All our lives we will have rules and laws to obey. When God gave the Ten Commandments, He gave them to all people, of all ages, for all time. No one outgrows the need to follow God's ways. That's one of the reasons God tells us to obey our parents. Doing what they say helps us learn to obey those in authority over us later in life.

Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
O so happy! and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed
I am now at peace forever
safely home in heaven at last
Did you wonder that I so calmly
trod in the valley of the shade?
O! but the Lord's love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.
And They came Themselves to meet me.
In that way so hard to tread
And with The Lord's arm to lean on.
Could I have one doubt or dread.
Then you must not grieve do sorely,
for I love you dearly still
Try to look beyond the earth's shadows
Pray to trust our Father's will
There is work still waiting for you
so you must not idly stand
do it now, while life remaineth
You shall rest in the land of the One,
the All That Is.
When the work is all completed
he will gently call you Home
O, the rapture of that meeting
Oh, the joy to see you to come.

She Walks in Beauty ~
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half iapair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in ever raven tress,
Or softly lightens over her face.
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
The pure, how dear their dwelling place.
And on that cheek, and over the brow.
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!
~George Gordon. Lord Byron
